Technical Support Representative

Position Summary

The Technical Support Representative is responsible for providing a high level of service and support to both the Company’s customers.  The position is essential for the successful coordination between sales and production, engineering and other Company personnel to facilitate customer technical support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and process price and bid quotations for customers in coordination with the Company’s direct sales personnel
  • Enter and update orders in the Company’s ERP database and coordinate with sales and manufacturing departments on build and ship schedule for orders entered
  • Read and comprehend documents including quotations, customer purchase orders, RMA forms, price lists, invoices, packaging lists and shipping and country-specific export documents
  • Support direct sales personnel with product or order status inquiries
  • Provide collateral sales material to direct sales personnel or to the customer, as requested
  • Assist with shipping department:  provide packing lists and other required shipping documents as well as prepare invoices
  • Coordinate with direct sales and other Company personnel to ensure timely and accurate responses to all customer requests or inquiries
  • Provide consistent follow through to customers on any questions or issues related to invoices, pricing or shipments
  • Report and discuss with management all customer issues
  • Develop good knowledge of all products and processes necessary to support and exceed customer expectations
  • Develop good knowledge of customers, markets and individual customer needs
  • Regularly communicate with direct sales personnel and customers on order status or in response to inquiries or requests for assistance
  • Provide switchboard relief, as needed
  • Assist in Returns and Replacements (RMA processing), as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Associate Degree, preferably in business or other relevant field of study, and prior experience in sales support or customer service; previous experience in inside sales preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and frequently, both verbally and through written communication, with direct sales and other company personnel, including production, engineering and shipping personnel
  • Ability to effectively interpret customers’ requests via telephone and provide clear and  concise verbal and written responses in a timely manner
  • Positive attitude, exemplary attendance, and cooperative team member
  • High level of technical aptitude that provides an ability and interest to learn about technical and engineered products
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and situations requiring attention to detail and urgent responses to time-critical inquiries
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, self-directed - needs minimal supervision -  and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel; previous CRM and ERP (Sage Accpac) experience a plus

Day Shift

Pay: $13.00/hr
