Thomas Young, Owner/Strategic-Partner
My broad work history includes decades of global business experience, but I've worked in the staffing industry for over 25 years. Most recently, I ran my own staffing consulting practice in Manchester, U.K.
Throughout the course of my career, I've done just about everything in the staffing industry there is to be done, including: working as a contractor; sales and recruiting; managing operations; and running RPO and VMS programs. I've built successful local, regional, national and international recruitment organizations, connecting talent with opportunity in administrative, energy, finance, life sciences and high-level IT specialties.
When my wife and I decided to move back to the U.S., I decided to look for a staffing ownership opportunity. After conducting my own research and speaking with other franchise owners, I realized that PrideStaff was exactly what I was looking for.
Combining national resources, robust technology and incomparable communication processes, PrideStaff's business model allows us to consistently create exceptional matches between talented people and great employers in the San Diego market.
The Big Picture:
The staffing industry is extremely healthy on a national, and even global, basis. Today's staffing users are much more sophisticated, using services strategically to balance out seasonal fluctuations, control overhead and close critical skills gaps.
On the talent side of the equation, the perception of temporary workers has improved dramatically. In today’s job market, working as a temporary allows individuals to gain diverse experience, broaden their capabilities and improve their marketability by showing how adaptable they are.
The Scoop on Staffing:
When we refer candidates, our clients can be sure they’re receiving the right people at the right time and at the right price. For job seekers, we listen to their needs, take their feedback seriously and work hard to connect them with employment opportunities that are a great match.
By focusing on the things employers and job seekers value most, PrideStaff has won the Best of Staffing Diamond Award for the past four years. While some staffing firms would be content to rest on their laurels, our organization strives to continually improve service delivery for employers and job seekers. Each day, we set the bar just a little bit higher to create even better experiences for our customers.
Secrets to Success:
At PrideStaff, we always ask “what if” questions to ensure success for all parties in the employment equation:
What if we communicated “X” differently?
What if we approached “Y” from this perspective?
What if we changed the way we think about “Z”?
Scenario-based questions like these allow us to take off the blinders when examining our sales, recruiting and operational processes, so we can uncover new ways to improve our services – and deliver exceptional results.
When I'm not working, I enjoy traveling with my wife to experience new cultures and environments. We are both foodies and wine connoisseurs, so we welcome the opportunity to try new dishes and varietals when we travel.
I also enjoy photography, and now that I’m back in the states, I’m looking forward to taking golf back up again.
