Our client seeks a maintenance technician to train Monday – Friday 7 am to 3 pm for 2-3 weeks, then work 6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am. Duties include completing projects with minimal guidance; proactively minimizing equipment downtime and lost production; troubleshooting mechanical devices; dismantling and examining devices to remove defective parts; adjusting, repairing or replacing parts; setting up and operating drill presses, grinders, band saws, cutting torches and welders; using hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment; installing, repairing or modifying electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; improving equipment reliability and uptime; researching supplies, parts and tools to complete work orders; helping identify and maintain parts inventory; helping update and maintain records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings and project management logs; following safety, health and environmental rules and guidelines; operating forklift and aerial lift platforms; departmental housekeeping and other duties as assigned. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or a related field; and manual dexterity to operate hand tools, hand trucks, forklifts, mechanical platforms and lifts, bench tools, welders, saws and drills.
