PrideStaff Houston (Northwest) Field Associate, Jermaine Rogers, Named National Temporary Employee of the Year

To recognize his hard work, positive attitude, and indomitable spirit, PrideStaff, a nationally franchised staffing organization, is pleased to name Jermaine Rogers its National Temporary Employee of the Year. Presented at PrideStaff’s Annual Conference, an in-person, three-day event held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, this award was given to the most outstanding field associate working on assignment through PrideStaff between August 1, 2021 and July 31, 2022.

After his first assignment for PrideStaff Houston (Northwest) ended in March of 2022, Jermaine struggled to find work and eventually became homeless. However, even though he was sleeping in his car and working odd jobs to survive, Jermaine diligently stayed in touch with the Houston (Northwest) team while he earned his Class A CDL. Jermaine’s determination to succeed, despite challenging circumstances, led Branch Manager, Amanda Hatch to connect him with a full-time direct hire job as an over-the-road driver.

“Jermaine’s determination to get back on his feet and his trust in PrideStaff to help him is truly inspiring,” said Troyer. “Although he faced extreme hardships, he remained positive and focused on taking the next steps in his life. Our team was unaware of the extent of his struggle until he shared his story much later, and we are humbled by his belief in us. I was living in my Honda Civic and barely making enough money to get a hotel room so I could provide a safe environment for my son when I picked him up on weekends,” stated Rogers. “I kept in touch with the PrideStaff Houston (Northwest) office every day because I knew they could help me put my new CDL to work. Sure enough, they called and said they had a great job for me—and they were right. Thanks to PrideStaff, I’m now employed with an amazing company with excellent benefits. I’m so thankful I can provide the quality of life that my son deserves and work toward a better future for both of us!”
